South East Stars v The Blaze
County Ground, Beckenham
10:30am Thursday 21st September
Despite The Blaze finishing the group stage in second place, the 2023 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy eliminator has been scheduled at Beckenham, South East Stars’ most frequently used home ground.
The Blaze will be without some of their England stars, Tammy Beaumont and Nat Sciver-Brunt, who the side have sometimes struggled without. On the other hand, the South East Stars have been bolstered by the return of all-rounders, Alice Capsey and Alice Davidson-Richards.
After their rebrand this season, The Blaze have experienced some great successes but since the Hundred, the side have struggled for wins and have been on the losing end too many times, allowing the top spot to slip away.
Consistency hasn’t been a part of the Stars’ season but they’ve done enough to qualify and will have furthered their confidence with some mighty victories in recent weeks.
It would be disappointing to see the Blaze fall short given their overall success and transformation this season but with the Stars putting out one of their best possible line-ups, it will be a tough challenge.
