Over the next four days, there is more Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy cricket to enjoy. The Blaze are firing ahead in the table but elsewhere it’s quite tight. As teams get closer to the break for the Hundred, they’ll be keen to finish strong because after that, finals day starts looming.
Sunrisers v Thunder
Country Ground, Northampton
Friday 14th July 10.30am
Thunder started their week with a big win over rivals, Northern Diamonds. Sunrisers, once again, suffered defeat. The teams are often well matched which could make the game a real thriller.
Thunder have momentum from their recent game and will be hungry for another win. Equally, Sunrisers no longer sit in last place and will want to keep it that way!
Northern Diamonds v Central Sparks
Headingley, Leeds
Saturday 15th July 10.30am
Central Sparks will be frustrated that their game against Western Storm – which probably would have gone their way – was rained off at the start of the week. Headingley is always a challenging place to be away at but Sparks have plenty of confidence from their recent Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy triumphs.
The Northern Diamonds, on the other hand, have lots of work to do, having lost their past two matches against The Blaze and Thunder.
Western Storm v Southern Vipers
Millfield School, Street
Saturday 15th July 10.30am
Losing has become more common for the Southern Vipers recently but unfortunately for Western Storm, it’s become a habit. The Vipers will be clear favourites but the Storm will be desperate to put points on the board.
Western Storm are also continuing to miss Lauren Filer and Dani Gibson to England duty who have both been a key part of their line up.
The Blaze v South East Stars
Welbeck Cricket Club
Monday 17th July 10.30am
The Blaze are the ultimate winning machine and they don’t look like slowing down. Welbeck CC will hope to successfully host a Blaze game after the washout earlier in the season.
The Stars have had some disappointing performances recently but beating The Blaze will be another huge task.
